Terms and Conditions
Booking with The Oyster Lady
All bookings must be confirmed in writing by the Client.
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure The Oyster Lady for the date of your event.
All bookings are subject to confirmed number of crew, these will be confirmed in writing by The Oyster Lady to the Client.
Booking Deposit
A booking deposit figure will be provided to the Client in writing by The Oyster Lady once your booking confirmation is received. This deposit will be deducted from the total costs (please see our Payment terms below).
Payment methods available include bank transfer, debit card, credit card, and cash.
Booking Confirmation
Once the Clients deposit has been received the booking is confirmed and the date reserved.
Payment of Total Event Costs
Payment in full is required for all catering services to be provided by The Oyster Lady. Final order amendments must be confirmed no later than 7 days prior to the event.
The information provided at this point will be used to produce your final event cost invoice, arrange staff and co-ordinate with yourselves. Once our invoice is received by the Client, payment must be received within 48 hours from the date of the event. After final numbers have been provided to The Oyster Lady we are happy to accept any increases in requirements however no reduction will be possible.
Cancellation Charge
In the unfortunate event of a booking having to be cancelled, confirmation in writing will be needed by the The Oyster Lady, and your deposit will be retained.
If The Oyster Lady cannot fulfil the event due to the client causing late or delayed payment after invoicing, the client will still be liable for the 50% deposit fee to account for any time spent on the event preparations and to account for the blocked date in the bookings calendar.
Dietary Requirements and Allergies
The Oyster Lady will endeavour to provide suitable adaptions to the Clients menu for any guests with special dietary requirements or allergies. We cannot however take responsibility for any guests unless advised in advance (no less than 48 hours prior to the event).
Clients Food and Drinks
We accept no liability for any food supplied to the Client by another caterer (or food products suppliers by the Client themselves) in additional to those arranged by The Oyster Lady.
Client’s use of The Oyster Lady’s Property and Clients Personal Property
The Client agrees to pay for any loss or damage to any equipment, crockery, cutlery or glassware supplied by The Oyster Lady for the event, including any issues caused by the Clients crew.
The Oyster Lady will not be held responsible for the theft, lost or damage to any personal effects of the Client or Clients crew.
Liability of The Oyster Lady
The Oyster Lady accept no liability under any claim whatsoever arising (be it by negligence or otherwise) for any loss over the figure of the existing The Oyster Lady Public Liability Limit of Indemnity. Note that this figure which may change from time to time, and is available upon request together with a copy of our Certificate.
Force Majeure
The Oyster Lady shall incur no liability to the Client if performance of the contract is prevented or hindered by any case whatsoever beyond The Oyster Lady’s control and in particular but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, by act of fire, flood, subsidence, sabotage, accident, strike, or lock out and shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting there from suffered by the Client.
